It is one thing if the state wants to build a highway where your house is. It is entirely something else when a private developer wants your house for some private project.

If that’s the standard then private property “rights” only go to the highest bidder. What a sick word that is.

In the 70’s the supreme court found that taking someone’s home so that the government can get higher property taxes is perfectly legal.
