Any voter who stays mad over a comment like this for nine months is going to get mad about something between now and November, so Cruz might as well forget about that voter.
Further, there are people in New York who have a sense of humor. They'll laugh about it and probably understand what Cruz meant and agree with it. They also laughed at this video rather than getting their panties in a knot:
Yes, the comment was a mistake, but it's one he can and should learn from, not the end of his campaign. We need to eliminate candidates who oppose the Second Amendment, those who support Amnesty, and those who support Obamacare, not those who hurt someone's feelings over a comment that is not central to the job of the president - which could describe both Cruz and Trump for a lot of people. It's not like he called illegal immigration "An act of love" and meant it!
New York is not relevant to whether a republican is elected.
