Cruz must be doing well because the mainstream is doing everything it can to slam him today. Interesting that the media does not go after Trump in the same way. Maybe they know that Trump is under the master’s control where as Cruz is an actual threat.
Being a New Yorker I hate to admit it but I teared up a bit during Donald Trump’s passionate defense of my home town.

Any voter who stays mad over a comment like this for nine months is going to get mad about something between now and November, so Cruz might as well forget about that voter.
Further, there are people in New York who have a sense of humor. They'll laugh about it and probably understand what Cruz meant and agree with it. They also laughed at this video rather than getting their panties in a knot:
Yes, the comment was a mistake, but it's one he can and should learn from, not the end of his campaign. We need to eliminate candidates who oppose the Second Amendment, those who support Amnesty, and those who support Obamacare, not those who hurt someone's feelings over a comment that is not central to the job of the president - which could describe both Cruz and Trump for a lot of people. It's not like he called illegal immigration "An act of love" and meant it!
I grew up in New York. It is a place that trashes conservative values at every turn. If anyone thinks not being for New York values will hurt Cruz, they are delusional. This is the place I can be fined $250,000 for not using the right gender pronoun. Did anyone really think that Cruz was going to take NY? And I was raised in Queens and born the same year as Donald Trump. Trump has first, last, and always been about Donald Trump. If you want another eight years of that stuff, vote Trump. I deserve better!
