Well I live in DC, and I'm not at all insulted when people rail against DC values. Actually it's music to my ears. I am an American first and foremost. And if the fact is that we -- as a community -- consistently and resoundingly vote for the most deplorable people imaginable, I'm certainly not going to allow local pride to override the truth that our values are out of sync with American (as enshrined by the Constitution) values.
