I am loathe to cite the NYT, but here is an article on Romney’s proposal on school vouchers. It’s the quintessential conservative position on school choice, with roots going back to Milton Friedman.
The quintessential conservative position is to not use federal taxpayer money. It’s to fix the education system by letting states handle education, not another Federal government involved program. And then vouchers are not required.
