Legal segregation in the US may have ended more than 50 years ago. But in many parts of the country, Americans of different races aren't neighbours - they don't go to the same schools, they don't shop at the same stores, and they don't always have access to the same services.
In 2016 the issue of race will remain high on the agenda in the United States. The police killings of unarmed black men and women over the past few years reignited a debate over race relations in America, and the reverberations will be felt in the upcoming presidential election and beyond.
Ferguson, Baltimore and Chicago are three cities synonymous with racial tensions - but all three have another common denominator. They, like many other American cities, are still very segregated.

Blacks who are not committing a crime, resisting arrest, or running away from a crime scene have about a zero chance of getting shot/killed by a cop.
Yup. Alabamians live side by side. I live on a lot of acres, so my neighbors aren’t close, which is the way I like it. And I don’t care what color they are.
Liberals segregate. The more conservative the area, the less segregation. Most segregated place I ever lived was Washington DC.
Culture.
I recall a Truth or Consequences show, maybe from the 70's where a young couple were asked whether this was literally true.
They had on the stage a large cage, suspended by a rope, which contained several each of chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and perhaps others. The matter would be settled when the cage was raised.
After short consultation, the couple decided that the adage was NOT true, but when the cage was raised, the birds congregated into like groups, literally quicker than the eye could see. It was instant, and quite amazing.
Now one could quibble over the applicability of this literal truth to comparatively arbitrary human groupings, but the more subtle point is that the couple decided that the adage was false in its premise. I think the obvious reason they did so was because of liberal indoctrination against the notion. That was in the 70's... and now? ... and now? ...
I have a bro-in-law who used to have (he might still have them) season tickets to the Chicago White Sox major league baseball team of the American League.
One time he loaned his tickets to a few of his friends who were in town and wanted to see a game. My bro-in-law gave them strict instructions on how to leave the stadium after the game was over to get back on the interstate highway. The ballpark is located in a high crime area of Chicago on the south side.
Well, after the night game was over the two (white) friends proceeded to get in their car and drive down the wrong street. After driving a few blocks their car started getting hit by bottles, bricks, and stones. The driver did a u turn and tore out of the area at a high rate of speed. Lesson learned. Follow instructions.
Danger
Hip hop and rap are NOT types of music. In years past, they would constitute noise pollution. Back to the subject at hand. Most people simply choose not to live next to anyone that will rob them blind or kill them for the car they drive.
That’s the truth. I took my little girl out of public school because black kids kept bullying her. She’s very kind and accepting of others and they took advantage of that. Blacks are taught very early whites are not to be trusted and will do them harm. Liberals perpetuate this paranoia and that’s why whites who don’t want to compromise their culture and safety flee the cities for the suburbs.
It’s sad that the irresponsible, violent and racist left wing black welfare mobs in the cities represent “American Blacks” to foreigners. Hardly.
They live together because they want to live together. They have made clear over the years, they don’t want whites near them. They attack whites in “their” areas.
I grew up in Atlanta (and still live in metro Atlanta). I work at a local hospital (for over 2 years), and to this day, certain “ethnic” people will not even acknowledge me. I’m sick of it. Now, I no longer acknowledge them. They don’t want to watch Turner Classic Movies, and I don’t want to be subjected to their rap crap on the roads.
Whites prefer not to live around chaos, drugs, gangs, rudeness, violence, etc., what’s not to understand?
They hang out together. Or at least that is what commercials tell me. When there is a party, or people get together to watch a game, eat chips and crackers, and drink beer, there is always black and white people at the party.
But...but... television tells me it’s that way. One house on one side has a black neighbor, and the other neighbor is Asian, and then there is a gay neighbor, too.... And a muslim gardner with a really big machete to trim the hedges.

Happens mainly in States and cities run by Democrats. Also, most ethnic/racial groups like to live around others who share their cultures.
I live midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. Schools are fully integrated, with one local high school having a football team with many Pacific Islanders and they have won multiple titles over the years. ....When I go to the store I see East Indians, hispanics, blacks, whites, muslims and Sikhs and Asians. They live in our neighborhoods and the kids go to schools together. ....Everyone has equal access to all services.

I don’t know if the muslim neighbor has a machete (I’m pretty sure he and his wife care little for gardening), but you pretty much described my neighborhood here in northern Virginia.
Yep, in my city we have the “Black” neighborhood, the “Hispanic” neighborhood....heck there’s six blocks that are just about 100% Greek, and another three that are basically Poland “in little”..
No signs, no checkpoints, plenty of such people living in other parts of town in mixed neighborhoods.
But for the people living in the “segregated” neighborhoods...they LIKE it that way.
