Maybe. Or he let Don get his numbers up early. Because maintaining a level of support is a lot harder than achieving it. Elections are won in the final stretch most often. and the right loves playing candidate hopscotch. History shows it conclusively.

Heck a smart man like Edward doesn’t need internal polling to see
trouble ahead. The plain ol’ polls shown on Real Clear Politics
should have been an awakening clue. He can win Iowa but he needs
to step it up for those primaries coming on down the road.
