Very VERY well said.
The average American doesn't respond to a bunch of esoteric talk about the Constitution.
They respond to "I'm going to build a wall. It'll be the biggest and the best wall you've ever seen. And I'll make Mexico pay for it!"
That is all that is needed for some people. Just like some people respond to Ted’s implicit message that he’s memorized more Bible verses than any of the other candidates.

After all the President does take this oath...
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Also a president needs to articulate what separation of powers is and the obligation of the executive branch to execute and enforce the laws of the United States.
Just when you think people don’t respond to “esoteric talk about the Constitution” is exactly when we need a president to follow the constitution and articulate the necessity of returning to our founding principles and the rule of law.
And as for the Bible verses comment...I am stunned as to how many people here on FR take a swipe at Cruz because of his faith.
This is supposedly a pro-God website correct?
