HOUSTON, Texas - Today, Congressman Alex Mooney of West Virginia endorsed Ted Cruz for President. Mooney will become Cruz for President’s West Virginia Chairman. He is one of the new conservatives in the House of Representatives who are changing Washington and fighting the status quo.
“I am proud to endorse Ted Cruz for President. Senator Cruz’s father, Rafael, visited West Virginia to discuss how he fled communist Cuba to live in freedom in America just as my mother did,” said Rep. Mooney. “I have had the pleasure of visiting with Senator Cruz on several occasions to discuss the shared conservative policies for which we are fighting in Congress. Moreover, Senator Cruz has proven by his actions that he will stand firm in defense of the freedoms and traditional Judeo-Christian values which we cherish, even when under great pressure. Senator Cruz is the best conservative choice to continue our fight as President of the United States.”
"Alex is part of the new generation of leaders who will fight for our conservative values," said Cruz. "I deeply appreciate Alex's support because we need leaders like him to stand up to Washington and fight for real change."

Who?
Half Cuban American who was in the MD and WV legislatures.
Honest question: With people’s opinion of the Congress so low, is it beneficial to have these endorsements? Seems a little risky. If it comes to a two horse race, which looks likely, if the likes of McCain and McConnell come out and endorse their own and would that be desirable?
Teddy is racking up the endorsements, at least right now.
I’m still of the mind that some agreement of cooperation has been worked out between Trump and Cruz to publicly rage at each other for show, while sharing both data and influence in private. Even when Cruz ‘bites back’ at Donald, it is with restraint. Of course Cruz does not tend to put a lot of time into demagouging other GOPs, not like Mike Huckabee, who spends most of his public exposure slamming other republicans.
The endorsements are coming fast today.
We know you have to be a jerk and come on every Pro-Cruz thread and remind people your one of those idiot liberal Birthers Levin talked about, but give it a rest.
There’s 435 Congressman in the House. And a small chunk of them are trying to do a decent job and hold the line against the GOPe. Not everyone can be a leader like Steve King but thank God there are others in the House that understand the cause and what it takes to get the country back on track.
Your WHO? is a good reason why real conservatives struggle to win elections. I bet you didn’t even take the time to look at Congressman Mooney’s voting record, did you? No, it was a lot easier to dismiss him as a little Congressional pissant because he didn’t endorse you’re golden boy.
At least Cruz realizes the importance of people like Congressman Mooney who try to do their best to stop the Washington Cartel.
Now, unless you’ve got something intelligent to say, please refrain from taking cheap shots at Cruz or his supporters in a Pro-Cruz thread. Besides, you’re late for your birther basement meeting anyway.
DC politicians endorsing DC politicians. *Yawn*
Of course not and Cruz wouldn’t accept or publicize any type of endorsement (unless the Cartel and GOPe and MSM are criticizing Cruz and then he’s definitely for that endorsement).
Did you look at Congressman Mooney’s record? He’s only been there a year. He voted against the Omnibus Bill last month. He also voted against TPA in the House which everyone seems to jump on Cruz about. About the only thing I can find in his record was he voted for Boehner for Speaker when he first arrived like a lot of the others, but his votes have been solid for the most part.
This is a good endorsement.
If McCain and McConnell endorse Cruz, they will be laughed to scorn. Then nobody will take these endorsements seriously.
Both McCain and McConnell despise Cruz with every fiber of their existence ... Yet they would suddenly endorse Cruz for president - and the concomitant defacto head of the Party establishment machine. Really? I have serious doubts.
The fact is that Cruz is hated by the establishment GOPe - and endorsements given from any in their rank should peg the BS meter full tilt.

Trump Cult thread is down the Hall. If your going to criticize a conservative for endorsing a conservative, then GTFO!
Not your thread whiner.
Aw, how nice. So I’m a “whiner” because I decided to take a stand against the Trumpists that insist on invading and deriding every Pro-Cruz thread (or any Cruz thread for that matter).
The article was about a Congressman that you don’t even know anything about endorsing Cruz. Instead of looking up their background, you just shot your mouth off about “DC insider guy endorsing DC insider guy”.
Hey Newsflash. Whoever wins in November needs competent, intelligent Congressman in the House that are going to keep up the fight against the GOPe. Mooney is one of the good guys. But in the world of a Trumpist, everyone who doesn’t bow down to Trump is a loser and I guess Mooney is a double loser since nobody knows who he is either.
I don’t abide by this threads is your thread and that thread in my thread.
The comment ‘Politicians endorsing politicians Yawn’ wasn’t even directed at you. And this comment is what gets your goat? Chill.
Who's hated more, Trump or Cruz?
I guess my point is if people care enough about what Congress says anymore to make endorsements relevant.
My guess is they hate Cruz more b/c he is IN their club house ... whereas Mr. Trump is the real outsider. Cruz probably has some of the GOPe by the short hairs, since he likely knows more than he is presently telling about back-room dealings between the Republocrats and the Demonicans of the Uniparty.
Trump is a player - and I am sure he has dirt on all of these sociopaths ... but Cruz is looked upon as “a traitor in the ranks.” You get my meaning?
To put it another way - The GOPe looks upon Senator Ted Cruz as being a “snitch.”
