Mabus is the guy who likes to name ships after living Democrats (like Gabby Giffords) and another ship for Cesar Chavez. He put a woman in command of the third fleet in San Diego although she was not close to being the best qualified, if qualified at all.
Sounds like a bad luck name, if ever there was one, for any ship.
