The commander of the Navy's Carrier Strike Group 15 based in San Diego was relieved of his duties Friday, the Navy said in a release on Saturday.
Rear Adm. Rick Williams was removed from his position due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command, the release said.
The Navy's Third Fleet Commander Vice Adm. Nora Tyson relieved Williams based on the results of an investigation into allegations of misuse of government computer equipment.
Williams took command of Carrier Strike Group 15 in July 2015. He has been administratively reassigned, the release said, to the staff of Commander, U.S. Third Fleet.
Until a permanent relief is identified, Williams will be replaced by Capt. Chris Barnes who will serve as the interim commander.
The primary mission of the San Diego-based Strike Group is to train Pacific Fleet Carrier Strike Groups, Amphibious Ready Groups, and independently deploying surface ships prior to deployment.

There’s an old saying, “don’t dip your pen in the company ink”.
Government computers should be used for official business, period. It’s too easy for IT monitors to profile somebody based on their nonofficial/unauthorized computer usage.
When you call the IT Helpdesk & they easily `remote in’ to your desktop to solve hardware problems, you see what they know.
My guidance was, while on your government PC, assume that both your commanding officer and your Mom are looking over your shoulder as you work.
After duty hours, go home & log on to whatever.

Perhaps these same charges apply to the former secretary of state and her staff?
Wow!! You should post this as its own stand-alone thread. Pretty revealing of Hussein’s comfort/desire to live among the Muslims whose interests he has been advancing at every opportunity.

Usually these little âshortcomingsâ are discovered when they are JOâs....
The msg about JO’s comes from my earlier...
Just hit me that these guys/gals(ugh) aren’t getting ‘picked off’ down the line as their quirks can’t be spotlighted when the Eval Report has to be politically correct and it can’t be said that ‘Ens Smith gets seasick, can’t stand the chow etc etc’
If ‘we/they’ can learn these little items when they are Ensigns, one doesn’t have to worry with them later.
Also, when it is discovered that when Ens Smith turns into ADM Smith, kind of hard to believe he started ‘wetting the bed’ when he was 50.
From a PC Eval (made up)
“Ens Smith is a fine young officer, quick to attempt to respond to difficult situations and I am sure he will overcome that annoying habit of pushing on doors marked pull”.
For you ‘elders’.
Adm Nelson had an ‘Allied’ Adm with him on the bridge when the messenger said ‘Adm Nelson sir - we are about to be under attack’
Nelson”Thanks Quick get my RED uniform”
other ADM’ Red, why Red ADM?”
“When I get shot the men won’t see my bleeding”
Few days later the ‘other’ ADM back on his own ship and get the ‘we are going to be under attack’ message.
“Quick Orderly, get my BROWN uniform”.
#28 YIKES!
Probably my imagination...
5.56mm
That is probably it.
Umm...aliens? As in ETIs? What the heck?
Correct: he used it to send an e-mail questioning 0b0z0's purchase of a luxury mansion in Dubai... (See link in #3...)
It means he viewed porn on his gov’t computer.
What IS that?
That’s part of the American decline.
