In 89 I was working in Santa Clara (FMC Central Technology Center) just next to San Jose and was walking to the train through the back parking lot. There were waves a foot high in the parking lot. Cars were bouncing everywhere. I thought I was having a stroke or something, couldn’t figure out what was going on for the first 30 seconds. It was crazy.

You were a lot closer to the epicenter than I was.

My first conscious “encounter” with an earthquake was in 1976 In SanFrancisco. Third Floor Apartment in the Richmond District....watching the landscape outside my windows roll back and forth .. including the golden dome on the Orthodox Church a few blocks away.

What an amazing experience that was.
