On Tuesday night, my daughter and her friends went down to Claremont, New Hampshire to see Donald Trump in action. She and her chums range from the not terribly political to those with the usual enthusiasms of youth, so they went mainly because Trump's a hot ticket, and we don't get a lot of those in the Granite State. Her only other candidate encounter this season was at the North Haverhill Fair last summer when Lindsey Graham pounced outside the 4-H barn, no doubt with an eye to recruiting her for one of his "rotating first ladies".

That was a fun read.
You read it all in two minutes ?
I saw it yesterday.
Trump stirs passion on all sides of the debate.
And a multi-party America First coalition that breaks all known political models scares the hell out of everyone in the world...except for the America First believers.
Brilliant commentary
Thanks. I was thinking you had to be the fastest speed reader on the planet.
I love reading Mark Steyn articles and listening to him the times he is on the radio. Steyn has a wonderful grasp of the English language and has such a headful of knowledge that he can riff off a speech or response that sounds as though it’s a Winston Churchill quote.
Indeed, a very fun read!
People shouldn’t change the title. I searched on it as it was posted on the website & didn’t see it. Irritating...
But maybe a few more people got to see it.
Enjoyable account of the event.
A bossy girl of vaguely sapphic mien
Agreed.
Thanks for posting this.
I alway enjoy Mark Steyn and this article spoke to me very loudly. No platitudes, just analysis of observed events.
The GOPe should take note as they are soon to be irrelevant in American politics except as the democrat house boy.
About time. Go Trump.
When I read his prose, the added benefit is him reading it to me in my head. When he guest hosts on Rush I try and never miss it.
BTTT
Steyn is incredibly smart.
I totally admire the guy.
Hence the phenomenon. What a great, great piece by Steyn.
If the national GOP is a vehicle for ensuring that John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have a car and driver and a Gulf emir-sized retinue, then it's very effective. If it's a vehicle for advancing conservative principles, then it's a rusted-up lemon on cinder blocks.
How I wish the purists here understood that when you vote for the most conservative candidate uber alles, you'd better make sure he can do anything about it. A) win non R voters and B) have the power to smash the two party cabal.
