I repeat that silence would have been better. She used the optics perfectly. She scripted this as "performance art" and everybody acted according to her script, allowing her to segue straight into the status of poor widdle victim.

Only your opinion. She placed herself among an audience gathered to hear Donald Trump, not her, and acted in a way to draw attention to herself. She had no right of any sort to do that and should have been removed.
Let her organize her own event and draw her own audience, if she is able to draw an audience.
Trump’s supporters did nothing wrong. Intelligent people understand that.

In most cases, I agree. But in her case, an even better example would be to make her a bomb-vest blast radius pariah.
If she’d had a bomb on her, she would have exploded it no matter what. Then that would have been her “performance art”.
Trump did nothing wrong, I agree. But even better, clear a “potential bomb-vest blast radius” around her. And announce it that way. Totally humiliate her and her slave-master husband.
Trump could even apologize on her behalf. Say, “It’s not her fault, folks. She’s just the property of her husband. That’s what her hijab signifies. If she doesn’t obey him, she’ll get a beating later, and it’ll all be perfectly okay with the Koran.”
Our elections have long been a sham with the MSM including NewsCorpFox being in the tank for the rats. NewsCorp execs endorsed John Kerry in 2004.
Rigged debates are rigged elections.

We have to get smarter about denying her that advantage.
Trump is doing nothing more than vocalizing sentiments found here and most anywhere Constitution loving people have gathered. In fact, his rhetoric could have been read line for line from a lot of posts here on FR. A great triumph for a populist firebrand. A lot of dull witted thugs have achieved a great deal in history simply appealing to pent up emotion.
His ardent followers, in many cases, are letting their emotions whip them into less than intelligent actions. Screaming people surrounding one lone, silent woman (no matter how you or I might disagree with her) does not advertise intelligence to me, or anyone watching or reading the tailored clips the MSM will make of that.
Cruz, on the other hand, is intelligent. In time I expect he’ll do much better than simple blowhardism.

If Cruz were relevant enough to draw an islamist woman to his campaign event and she stood in silent protest, and his supporters do what you recommend Trump’s supporters do — which is sit there meekly and silently — we would deride both his supporters and Cruz to be weaklings.
It’s just too rich to see meek Cruz supporters siding with an islamist over Trump. ‘Allahu effin akbar!’
