Eleanor Darragh, mother of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% , was born in Delaware on Nov. 23, 1934, establishing her citizenship by birth-and, according to U.S. law, that of her son, even though he was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1970.
The Cruz for President campaign provided Breitbart News exclusively with the birth certificate.

Trump only brought this up about four or five times before the press asked him about it. Trump has gone back and forth on this issue depending on whether it looked like he’d lose Iowa. He is, as he says, a winner, super smart, smarter than Einstein, and richer than all the Saudi princes.

And he has the very “bestest” hair.
But seriously, the way Trump played this has alienated a number of us. I don’t think it gained him a single “convert”. I am so over Trump now and he had to work hard to get that turn of events. He’s dead to me!
I cannot tell you how irrelevant this article is to the Article II eligibility issue to be President of this country. I am flabbergasted at the false rabbit chasing by intelligent people on “Citizenship” of his mother, his father or any of that. Put all of that aside. Cruz is a citizen by birth to at least 1 citizen parent any where in the world or MARS!! That does not address his eligibility to be president under the “natural Born Citizen” requirement of the constitution of the United States. ZERO!! The issue is — does that term require one to be born on US SOIL ? In my opinion— it does but I could be wrong but somebody better find out quick!!
And WELCOME ABOARD!
Now if Trump is the candidate thatâs not to say I wonât still write in someone else.
Fair enough.........FWIW, the stay at homes and the purists who voted for the hopeless gave us Obama........but you knew that.
How do we know that you are not 0bama?
Honestly, I'm not that surprised. Duchess has stated that she would never vote for Cruz, and she's danced around the issue of his eligibility for quite a while. I've found it's a waste of time to argue with these birthers. Nothing will ever be enough for them, no evidence sufficient. They have too much time, bitterness, and nutbaggery invested in their tinfoil hat theories.
2ndDV, take a look at the keywords of this thread. The Trump howler monkeys are about to have an epic meltdown. And it's only beginning.
Wait until Cruz starts winning the primaries, LOL.
Yes, all he did was add to the “anybody but Trump” pool of voters.
OK, what am I missing here?
Did someone say that that Cruz’s Mother was not an American Citizen? If so, who said that?
I thought the issue was Cruz being Born in Canada, which seems to be the lynchpin here.
My Wife’s Stepbrother has three Boys who were all born overseas since he is with the Commerce Department. He had assignments in many different Countries over the years.
I wouldn’t think for a moment that his Children couldn’t run for President when they were old enough.
The ultimate newbie giving us their wisdom!!!
It is simply not about citizenship. Get off that!! It is where one is born.
Their citizenship isn’t validated by the process, only documented. Without the forms m the individual is still a natural born US citizen. But it is easier (but hardly impossible) to prove citizenship.
Frankly, his birth certificate and his mother’s are sufficient. Asking for more shows signs of extreme bias. Especially the request for his passport, which is nowhere near to being a public document. Frankly, that request is creepy, given the context.
It is abuse of the keyword feature. I have seen a mod actually post who added the cuteness. How about it?
Not the point. The point is that he was to have a CRBA filed on birth and/or a new citizen passport. It was either done or not done. Her birth certificate PRE-DATES Cruz’s birth and her time in Canada.
Not doing so, could have been entirely innocent. It also could have been the result of a family decision not to, since Cruz elder was in the process, I believe, of becoming a newly minted Canadian citizen.
Not codified Law, just codified opinions like your own.
No, the state department says that the process is to have a CRBA or a newborn passport to register a child born overseas. They aren’t my rules. They are your government’s rules.
It is simply not about citizenship. Get off that!! It is where one is born.

Hey NOOB...you are displaying SUCH dedication to constitutional conservatism, it’s DAZZLING.
By the way NOOB, it’s about whether a person was a citizen AT BIRTH (aka “natural born citizen”, or became a naturalized citizen later by some means other than his/her birth or he/she is not a citizen. The first category is eligible to be President and the last two are not.
I love it myself.
And which hero offered her any help?
