Ted Cruz is the junior U.S. Senator from Texas who made a name for himself by reading Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor as part of a symbolic filibuster of Obamaâs Affordable Healthcare Act. He was also one of the 47 signatories of a letter sent to Iran stating that President Obama lacked the authority to negotiate with Ayatollah Khomenei.
More recently, he has led a weak coalition of congressmen aiming to shut down the federal government for the second time in as many years. His objective â and one of his major campaign platforms, in addition to repealing Obamacare and the Iran Deal â is to defund Planned Parenthood.
