Not ONE of you better judge this man. He was merely participating in his culture and yours is no better!

Stalin had Pavlik Morozov turning in his parents to the Secret Police. Al Gore wants kids to inform on their parents bad environmental habits. So why should ISIS be any different?

The Reuters story on this (from Drudge) refers to ISIS as an extreme conservative group. May be the start of a new media meme.

This incident reminds me of a very early country-western song, “A Boy’s Best Friend Is His Mother”. I guess that song wasn’t on the charts in the muslim world.

Don't be hard on the poor boy. After all, he has just lost his mother.
Maybe if somebody Had offered him a good job he would have considered her plea for a better life?

I just finished reading this Financial Post article,
France's Oedipal Islamist Complex when I came upon this thread. The article's subtitle is "The country's jihadi problem isn't about religion or politics. It's about generational revolt." According to FP, the problem is just some misguided yutes who decided that their Muslim parents have compromised too much with the local culture, and hence they go rogue, just like many other unhappy young people.
That they choose to go rogue by becoming Islamist terrorists supporting the Islamic State doesn't have anything to do with religion or politics, according to FP. It's just a novel way to revolt.
