NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. presidential candidates are spending long days on the campaign trail and their nights in a succession of budget hotels, often in small towns. Not Donald Trump.
After nearly every rally, the billionaire real estate developer hops into one of his planes or helicopters and returns to New York so that he can sleep in his own bed in his marble-and-gold-furnished Trump Tower apartment in Manhattan.
In November and December, Trump held six rallies in Iowa, visited a local production plant and held one town hall, flying home each night. His nearest rival for the Republican nomination, Ted Cruz, has zigzagged around the state, holding around a dozen town halls and twice as many "meet-and-greet" sessions, and bedding down between stops in hotels.
Trump's determination to sleep at home every night raises eyebrows among election campaign veterans, who say it could cost him. Voters in Iowa and New Hampshire often want more personal attention; they feel they play a special role in choosing presidential nominees because their contests are held first.
Trump leads in polls in New Hampshire but he has slipped behind Cruz in Iowa. Cruz has done what U.S. presidential candidates typically do: He has made the state a virtual second home in the run-up to Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucus.
This week Cruz is crisscrossing the state in a bus, cruising through small hamlets with stops at a pizza place, coffee house and even a water park.

And many “orgy island” trips with a pedo who got off on twelve year old children...
That's a big plus in my eyes.
Good point. But...
Trump has spent DECADES building his public brand. EVERYONE knows who he is, and respects him as a successful manager (even if they don’t _like_ him).
That vs all other candidates who are in a mad rush to introduce themselves to all potential voters.
Q: “Trump?”
Typical A: “Yes.” or “No.”
Q: “Cruz? Bush? Carson? Christie? Fiorina? Huckabee? Kasich?”
Typical A: “Who?”
#46 No wonder he likes his own bed. His wife is in it. She is easy on the eyes whereas the Clintons and obamas are horrid looking.
Trump should bring all those women up on a rally stage and let them tell their stories. It would be like a direct hit from the entire nuclear triad.
Question!! Did Trump buy and pay for all of his stuff with his own money that he earned by working? Or, did he pay for all of this stuff with money he scammed from mind-numbed donors?
Yes, we all have our vices. Billy’s deadly sin seems to be lust. trump’s seems to be greed. Even driving him to hire a couple of hundred illegals for one, single demolition project, and paying them under the table $4 or $5 per hour, with no benefits, and not even hardhats. And a few union guys to satisfy his Mafia colleagues, to provide labor the job.
labor should be labor cover
“...his opponents are waking up in Holiday Inns or Courtyard Marriotts.”
What a load of crap. As if Hillary, Yeb! or any of those other elitest snobs would ever lower themselves to sleeping at a Holiday Inn.
You’re right - funny AND true... well, size wise...
Trump was asked about it and said it would be an honor to live in the White House... (Both the reporter and Trump aware the WH ‘objectively’ isn’t as beautiful as his Florida Vacation home... )
Brand recognition CERTAINLY helps, especially for contests that are still far into the future. In fact, I would say that brand recognition is most of trump’s national lead. But as one gets closer to an election, and people actually examine the candidates , brand recognition’s importance will fade, and the personal contact of good retail politics will grow in importance.
I don’t have a problem with lust - I DO have a problem with rape.
You know the difference, right?
“With Trump I am rich, I want others to dream like me.”
Indeed, I can imagine Trump saying (if he hasn’t already many times) “yes I’m rich, and I want you to be rich too - let’s get rich!” Conversely, Hillary et al are “you have money, I’m going to give it to someone else.”
Socialism belies a misunderstanding of the nature of wealth. It’s not a fixed commodity to be shared, it’s a transient quality which must be replenished by effort.
Rich people love socialism because it eliminates competition.
I don’t have a problem with marital love. I do have a problem with lust. You do know the difference, right?
.
Trump pays for his stuff with money scammed through eminent domain thuggery from the rightful owners.
Trump is a big government thug.
I was working out in W.Texas and had to get a room at a crappy little motor inn. Went to the room and opened the door, closed it and went and slept in my truck.
For all we know the press rapes powerless women too. Why else would they attempt to bury this story? It has to be more than bias and hatred of Conservative Americans.
Right?
Could they really hate us that much?
The Washington Post and New York Times damn well would cover this story if rape allegations and abuse of women were made against Carly Fiorina’s husband... Rather than the husband of Hilliary. Yes, they would make that connection.

Even Chris Matthews would figure that one out...
You going back to the old Jimmah Carter thing... LOL
