WEBSTER CITY, Iowa — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is tying questions about his citizenship, most recently raised by billionaire Donald Trump, to another foe in the GOP presidential field: Senate colleague Marco Rubio.
Cruz made the connection Thursday afternoon when asked about the statement by another senator, John McCain, that he does not know if Cruz is eligible to become president. Cruz was born in Canada to a father from Cuba and a mother from the United States.
“It is no surprise. Everybody knows that John McCain is going to endorse Marco Rubio,” Cruz told reporters before a stop in Webster City. “Their foreign policies are almost identical. Their immigration policy is identical. And so it’s no surprise that people who are supporting other candidates are going to jump on silly attacks.”
In recent days, Trump has repeatedly wondered aloud if Cruz’s Canadian birth would prove problematic if he became the nominee. The billionaire has advised Cruz to settle the matter in court as soon as possible, something Cruz flatly said Thursday he would not consider.
“It’s not going to happen, and I’m not going to be taking legal advice anytime soon from Donald Trump,” the Texan told reporters.
Cruz’s decision to involve Rubio drags the Florida senator into a Trump-fueled debate that has been raging for the past few days. For weeks, Cruz and Rubio have been trading barbs over their views on foreign policy and immigration, areas where Cruz has argued Rubio is much more aligned with the GOP establishment than he is.

I like Cruz more than Trump, however I hope this issue get resolved the sooner the better, and I kinda wanna see that dirtbag Alan grayson getting laughed out of the courtroom as well.
Amnesty Boy will never get my vote
Lol. He did a mini trump without swearing or bullying.
Wow, it’s amazing that those foreigners score so much better then an American in your little table.
I will vote for Trump or Cruz, but none other.
The rest want to give the country to fraudulenty documented foreigners.
Gowdy lost any credibility he had with me when he endorsed Rubio. McCain’s endorsement is like a stake in the heart of a vampire.
There really isn’t much there. Every expert has said so and indeed Cruz is right up there with the top constitutional lawyers.
This was fascinating to me, how as solicitor general he involved himself in cases of a conservative nature with amicus briefs:
Every year from 2003 to 2007, Cruz was the counsel of record on briefs that won a Best Brief Award from the National Association of Attorneys Generals. He wasnât the only winnerâin 2007, for instance, NAAG gave a Best Brief Award to 17 peopleâbut Cruz was a named winner five years in a row.

awesome stuff.
Rubio is Amnesty Boy
I like Trump and I wish he had left that topic to the democrats. I had to turn off Mark Levin today because he just would not stop making snarky remarks about it. Do these people really think that the democrats would let this slide? Trump probably did do Cruz a favor and have it washed out of the news cycle. I read a two year old Dallas newspaper article about it; the article was speculating the problems Cruz had with dual citizenship and running for the presidency.
Levin was irritated that there is no intellectual discussion going on about conservatism, as if voters are interested in that. Voters are interested in someone who is doing what Trump is doing.
The funniest thing about this - Rubio should beg McCain not to endorse him. Lol. He will end up with numbers like Linda Graham. What a hoot.
Levin is lost case. Something wrong with him. 3-4 years back , I tried listening to him but he is too much while driving back home after work.
Rubio may be looking at a real issue. His parents were Cuban refugees and didn’t become citizens until 3 years after he was born.
Rubio is Amnesty Boy
Levin is stuck in the 80s when Reagan was president, and he was working in the Reagan administration. He is out of touch with what the people of the U.S. deem important, however. He thinks Ted Cruz is the 2nd coming of reagan, and I hate to burst his bubble, but, there was and will only be on Ronald Reagan.
