As much as I hate to say it or hate the thought of it, you are absolutely correct. The only way to change course inour PC world is a painful wake up call. As an ER doctor might call it, “response to pain stimuli”. By the way, there is no political solution.

The class of stupid people and people with a vested interest in the current status quo , is just too large for a "vote" to solve anything.
We need pain. A massive dosage of it. If we do not get sufficient pain to wake us up, we are going to die.
