It's been my assumption that the only reason Hillary hasn't been indicted is that she and Bill have the goods on Obama and will take him down if she's brought down. She'd have nothing to lose and is certainly vindictive enough to do so.

However, if she's forced to withdraw for "health reasons" then Biden can "save the party" by being reluctantly drafted at the convention, having avoided sullying himself in the primaries.

I don't think the Sanders supporters would take kindly to this sort of maneuver, but the DNC politburo won't care.

A reasonable assessment. But Obama knows how to play the game. He holds the cards. Imagine Hillary threatening to take him down after she is indicted. RACISM will be screamed by the Black Caucus and the entire Black Victim Industrial Complex.
