2016/01/06 12:43

(ATTN: RECASTS headline, lead; ADDS more info)

SEOUL, Jan. 6 (Yonhap) -- North Korea announced Wednesday it has succeeded in conducting a hydrogen bomb test, hours after what seems to be an artificial earthquake was detected close to the North's nuclear test site.

In a "special" announcement aired on the North's state television station, North Korea said it conducted an H-bomb test at 10:00 a.m. (Pyongyang Time).

It’s pretty likely No Korea had help, probably from rogue scientists out of Pakistan.

Who haven't demonstrated any ability to build hydrogen weapons either.

I don’t doubt that already have a couple of nukes (by supply) and that they have the technology to build more and are doing so.

I do. Their first test was something like 5 kilotons, which is pretty much a dud. If this is their fourth test, and it yields is 8 kilotons, (a dud) as one person mentioned, or 45 kilotons (a good yield) as another person mentioned, then they are hardly ready for reliable production of nuke warheads.

But I expect we will learn more about their capabilities directly, and then we can stop guessing.

What do you think they’ve been working on with the help of Iran, China, and the neo-USSR since Bill “I allowed the Norks to build nuclear reactors” Clinton signed an agreement allowing them to build nuclear reactors back in 94?

This is what they have been working on.

May not be hydrogen, but it’s pretty tough to “fake” a 5.1 magnitude quake at ground level.

But, as you said, time will tell and we can stop guessing.

Yes, she is alive and kicking. Unfortunately. Always bombastic and belligerent. It would be hilarious if she subs for an evening news anchor at MSM in U.S.
