The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has a pamphlet available online that enlightens Americans and gives them guidance to help understand when one is granted permission to buy or sell firearms.
In the pamphlet, you can find phrases such as:
"persons who are engaged in the business of dealing in firearms"
"you will need a license if you repetitively buy and sell firearms with the principal motive of making profit"
"occasional sales of firearms from your personal collection, you do not need to be licensed"
The pamphlet goes on to say that "persons who are engaged in the business of dealing in firearms" is a person who "devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business."
Who is to decide what any of this means? Who is accountable?
Obama's newest regulations on firearms all involve the financial aspects of the firearms trade. It is odd that there is nothing included in the new regulations that limits the government's role, only inflating the efforts of government and adding more spending to dictate who can buy and sell firearms.
This 15-page simplified version of who the government allows to buy and sell guns is longer than the Constitution and Declaration of Independence combined. Its words could entrap even the most intellectual scholars with its vagueness.
This is just more added weight to our grotesquely obese government. It will continue to grow. It has not slowed down. It has not regressed in any way shape or form. Our 'knight in shining armor' Speaker of the House Paul Ryan starts the New Year off with a bill that will revoke spending for Obamacare and Planned Parenthood which, in return, will be used as nothing more than toilet paper in Obama's bathroom. And as for Obama, he had complete victory today when he gathered everyone's attention in announcing his plans to completely disregard the pusillanimous Congress and pass his gun control measure. For we as Americans to waste any time in complaining and chasing the delusive phantom of hope that things will soon be better is complete and utter folly.
What if the speed limit only applied to those who “regularly” exceeded it and nobody in the guv would say what the limit was? How could you know if you were driving legally when it was all up to the “totality of the circumstances”?
On a related matter - if Obummer actually wanted to increase the percentage of sales that go through a background check, he should ask congress for budget authority to pay the fee. What other Constitutional right requires a citizen to pay for using it? Should journalists pay every time they use the 1st Amendment to “transfer” information?
Make the regulations as vague as possible and then arrest anyone you want. Deny bail and then the federal government can outlast any American in a legal battle.
My windows are rattling because of all the bad guys shaking with fear at 0’s proclamations.
Regarding:
Guidance to Help You Understand if You Have the Right to Buy and Sell Firearms
-
Over the last several years, I have ...
... bought and sold some appliances,
... bought and sold some furniture,
... bought and sold some cars,
... bought and sold some guns.
I am not an appliance dealer,
I am not a furniture dealer,
I am not a car dealer, and
I am not a gun dealer.
Please,
tell me, how any of these things are any different.
Even better,
tell me why my federal government should give a flying fig about
what a free person does with their private assets and possessions.
“Because you can’t KILL someone with a washing machine!!”
Heh, heh, sorry, couldn’t help it. But you’re bound to hear that argument.
;^)
They care because they intend to make you Not Free.
Oh FFS.
I have the right to buy, sell, own, carry, use, load, have ammo in large quantities for, etc. etc. etc. any weapon system my budget will support.
The question is do my employees in the “government” recognize and respect that right?
The answer has been “no” for far too long.
I want my whole damn cake back.
I could kill someone with a washing machine. I thought of two ways before starting this post and a third while typing.
Are they going to retroactively go after my 92 Year Old Father now?
When I was 8 Years Old, he “transferred” a .22 Rifle and a .410 Shotgun to me.
Can’t give your Kid a Gun without using an FFL Dealer now?
If anyone finds the America that I grew up in, please send me a FReepmail, thanks.
You can easily kill somebody by dropping the Obamacare Bill on their Head or forcing them to watch Hillary getting a Pelvic Exam at her OBGYN.
Either one will destroy the Brain.
LOL, reminds me of the old joke about why television will never replace newspapers.
“Have you ever tried to swat a fly with a TV set?”
;^)
Note: Brain injury is not always fatal.
In fact, it most often results in Liberalism (which may be a form of death; the jury is still out on that one).
