There are people on FR hoping Trump wins and governs as a dictator.
I’m not sure that if you had Jefferson as President, Madison as Senate Majority leader, and Monroe as House Speaker things could be salvaged now.
Trump isn’t up to being even one of those three. Cruz might be.

People make a lot of Trumps Alpha and his skills. Sure, he has them. But people ensured a wall of opposition from the GOP when they had to win with lesser evils that always give Dems what they want. Trump, Cruz, anyone short of Christ is going to be accomplishing a lot less than people hope for because of that.
