We had choices and chose poorly. Few want to own up to it but we live in the reality of it.
Yes. However it has been a long road with many stages, so grasping what has happened takes more work than many care to admit. The Constitution is as good as any system one might hope for, but a system is still limitted by the goodness of the men involved. I’m not sure anyone could have turned it around after Wilson.

There are people on FR hoping Trump wins and governs as a dictator. Doesn’t matter if it’s Trump or anyone else. We have so called conservatives that disdain the Constitution and have no desire to keep it, a republic or anything of the sort.
