They don’t have to go to the basement to read a bill. ;)
Also, I will need to review the transcript of the interview you are discussing, but I’ve read most of the original Senate TPA language and the wording that Sessions was worried about was ‘t in that first version. It was added in the House.

And yes, I believe that Cruz read the bill. He’s known for his intellectual acumen.

We keep losing because of a spineless, castrated Congress. I thought that was common knowledge.

I was about to say the same thing. Never heard this before. If some individual Catholic are buying into this crap, it is because they are being influenced by this heresy of prevalent among Mormonism and evangelical Protestantism (which are distinct) but both seem have this prosperity gospel movement.

There
Would
Not
Have
Been
A
Vote
In
The
Senate
At
All

Better to have a meaningless vote that does nothing at all except allow the phony politicians to claim they were against it when in fact they made the thing unstoppable. Politics is not a game for the foolish, which is why junior conservatives go in there and get their head handed to them. Fools the brothers too I see.

No, TPP cannot be passed with a Presidential veto. The TPA language mandates an up or down vote for affirmation. A presidential veto does not apply to a confirmation or a treaty affirmation— or, in the language used in TPA, a trade deal.

The stupid is strong in this one. The deal is a treaty and they get people like you confused because they decided to not call it a treaty. The deal will go through because if congress doesn't vote on it the deal is already done. If they do vote on it even if they turn it down it is subject to veto and congress will not overturn that.

Before Corker it would require a two thirds majority of the Senate to approve this treaty. After Corker it would require a two thirds majority to stop it. What part of that is so hard to understand?

You are either the most foolish Freeper I have ever met or you are a paid GOPe hack.

You seem to be missing the point here: the Senate cannot vote on a treaty unless the President sends it to the Senate. They could not even have held a “meaningless vote”. Obama made it clear he would not be sending the treaty to the Senate.
Again, illegal as hell and impeachable, but when has that ever stopped him?

Whoa back up, you seem to be confusing TPA, TPP, and Corker. Corker has nothing to do with TPA or TPP.

Corker is about the Iran “deal” (treaty!) and it does change the rules for voting on the “deal” (treaty!). It takes a vote to stop the deal.

TPP however gets an “affirmation vote”. Obama cannot veto that vote. If either the House or Senate fails to pass TPP, it, TPP, dies. Both Senate and House have to vote to pass TPP. Veto does not apply.

‘Why are you so intent on dividing us?’

Have you posted this question to the other party, who is constantly, relentlessly slinging personal insults? The party you did pose the question to has been trashed mercilessly. He posted a couple of items in his defense. That’s now a crime?

You don’t come across as an evenhanded broker. Perhaps the one who’s dividing us is the one who posts mainly personal insults. Since when do relentless, often vulgar insults unite people?

Are you referring to this article?
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/05/07/only-two-republicans-admit-they-actually-read-secret-obama-trade-deal-both-unsupportive/

The security measures discussed therein are for TPP, not TPA. Cruz did not have to go to the basement to read TPA language.

Saying “spineless” and “castrated” implies that the GOP members were conservative in the first place.
Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

Communist Goal #15
That is the correct description of the status quo on Capitol Hill.

This seems to be the most significant post in the thread (for now) I’m still wading through it. I just wanted to mark this for myself for later review.

To me at first blush (without having watched the edited videos GPH provided or the full ones roamer did, again, as of right now hopefully I’ll have time later) but to me at first blush this doesn’t seem that significant a criticism as it seems to fall into, ironically, the kind of debates we have in the Religion forum, which reduce to basically: which brand of Christianity is best.

The main points that seem lost in GPH’s post, and really the only ones that could disqualify Cruz to anyone serious about his faith are: Does Cruz himself embrace this “Dominionism”? Does he (Cruz) reject the Trinity? Does he embrace any kind of “prosperity gospel”?

Again I’m not done reading the thread and really just wanted to save this post of roamer’s, but I think it’s worth pointing out that despite all the associations GPH shows, he doesn’t show that Cruz himself embraces anything New Agey or “prosperity gospelish”.

Those things, and/or if shown he rejects the Trinity, while claiming to be a Christian, would be a problem. But I’m not seeing that. And there’s still the video that roamer provides to examine for context. I will post something that demonstrates anything taken out of context I can assure you.

Thanks for the post: even the Daily Caller said it "sounded like" amnesty, which is how they stretch everything against Trump. His "merit" or "work something out" is an answer to immediate deportation. I never saw that vid, so again thanks. Doesn't mean a whole lot to me because nobody is going deport up to 30 million people, not Cruz, nobody.I am more concerned about what one actually does as in Cruz taking his thirty pieces of PAC silver so that corporations can do business in Iran while selling Israel down the drain.

"You've convinced me....to build a wall!"

Trump did say, on or near that same date (8/13), "I will say this, you have to form a very very strong barrier from people just flowing in like candy. It's no good, you can't have it. We either have a country, or we don't have a country," he said.

Of course not, because it would have never passed. Who said anything different. The Corker bill was a sloppy, wet Obama kiss to add legitimacy to the Iran deal.

So, I guess it was okay for Judas to take the 30 pieces of silver because Christ was going to be crucified anyway. Look, you can't serpentine and corkscrew around Cruz's sellout on Israel in exchange for all the globalist PAC money - and it's exactly consistent with his sellout on TPA. Hey, he gets the nomination I'll vote for him. But he ain't Saint Cruz. He is just another corporate hack that will appoint decent judges and save our guns. Mkay.

Cruz's PAC money is from pro energy, conservative, anti illegal immigration patriots. I've documented this numerous times too.
