This is interesting in the context:"What could the media make of this?"
The media 'narrative' is that Cruz is a far-right nutcase and they may be able to use this 'meme' (accurately or not) to enhance that message.

OTOH people historically have not been too concerned about candidates' religious details.

Let us not divide ourselves.
EITHER Cruz or Trump is acceptable to me and much to be preferred than the dem or the gop-e candidates.

Can you point to some items in the post that are factually incorrect?

Yes. The provided blog which is used to accuse Rafael Cruz of claiming his son 'anointed' is spun up bullsh*t. The video offered from the blog is an obvious hit piece. It takes less than 8 minutes of a 1 hr sermon and spins them falsely to create a nonsensical conclusion.

Here is the WHOLE service from that day. Cruz's sermon is about the last hour or so...

Does it talk about anointing? Yes it does. In a typical Pentecostal fashion. It is speaking to the congregation generally and about Christians generally. It never once selects anyone particular and claims a specific anointing.

And here are hours of Rafael Cruz preaching. Both in churches and at political events. Anyone with a true heart would listen to the man, at least as quickly as they listen to his detractors.

REALLY. You guys have to get your smear tactics in line. Is he the anointed king of the Christians or is he the conservative plant of CFR and Goldmann Sachs - because he can't be both.

all this crap-slinging just to justify voting for Trump. Y'all should be ashamed... If you still knew how.

only a vivid and agenda’d dark imagination would portray anything Cruz has said as being part of a Dominion theology. Our Founding principles are based in God’s word, including the part about liberty and freedom, including of religion.

While Santorum and Huckabee often swerve close to dominion theology, Cruz does not. He is a limited government guy, and Dominionism requires a large and powerful and intrusive Fed government. Funny, there are several Republicans well liked around here who also want a powerful and active Fed government.

Does it talk about anointing? Yes it does.

It clearly talks about the End Times transfer of wealth, and the "Kings" anointed to conquer the "market place" for the priests. There is no context in which the meaning of these words change. If I'm wrong, what does all that mean then, besides the obvious?

Thats because quite a few people here aren’t remotely conservative in their views, values or statements. When presented with a conservative or something else to vote for, they pick something else every time and actively work to tank that conservative with liberal talking points and hit pieces. Often, flat out bullshit.

Logic 101. If people wanted conservative governance, they’d vote for conservatives to govern. That they expend so much creative writing in ‘rationalizing’ why we should not elect actual conservatives shows they are at best, moderates. And often something far less principled than that.

In other words, you couldn't answer my question.

Bad optics, bad sound bites, lousy delivery.

GPH, if Cruz really does have these ties to New Age/Eastern Mysticism, Dominionist theology, prosperity gospel preachers like Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, contemplative prayer, as you say, then this is a very serious issue to real evangelical Christians who take the Bible seriously.

The problem is that I am having a hard time believing you after seeing your FR profile. Can you explain what your somewhat cryptic profile means?

I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. It's literally a picture of an alien and a quote from Augustine, nothing more.

WOW, I guess that says it all.....

If Trump doesn’t get the nomination your vote will be for Hillary or Bernie...

Don’t see that often on FR

Cruz seeks to adhere to the Constitution. That is the most doctrinaire of all Cruz positions.

The author is really stretching paranoia into the realm of fantasy here.

WTF is this? So EFFN what??
I would support Cruz one hundred per cent, except for him being drooled over by the mental Ralphy Beck.

only when you write full editorials or get snotty. No problem with normal posting under screen names, but come on....you gotta admit....if you don’t own something, it doesn’t have the same value. That’s just a life truth period - including your thoughts, your words, your actions.

As for the 41%. I think that makes my case for me.....not sure where you were going with this.
