there used to be socially conservative democrats...just like many pubs back in the early 60's were downright liberals...Jacob Javits for one....

but I have no use for any politicos protecting grifters,rapists,mafiosa, and other crooks....that says something about character when they protect such people...

Javits was not a liberal. He was a Socialist, close to the old Communist wing of the GOP (and yes, in NY, there was one).
