Why, indeed? No strategic value to it, and has been pointed out on this thread, let's say it didn't do much to dissuade the allies from firebombing Dresden, etc. just to inflict civilian casualties.
Could we just go for the simple answer that the Nazis were evil f***s, terrorists who just wanted to kill people just because? Would it be instructive to our situation?

The origial photo they released had four and it was photoshopped to show that many. The pic I posted was a joke on their original pic. The new satire version lampooned their original pic.
Remember the good old days, when we could go weeks or months and never hear a single news story from the middle east or anything moslem? And most Americans could go their whole life and never meet one.
