Message to all America bashers every that think we can't make it here anymore because of a skills gap. Very few manufacturing jobs require skills, the lion share of the assembly jobs take minutes to learn.

For instance the only real skilled workers in the auto industry are the mold makers, tool and dye makers , machinists and line robotics operators. Once all the stamping dye and molds are made the "high" skilled part is done. Almost ever every job could be learned by a 12 year old in 5 minutes.

Which means they should be paid minimum wage, at most.

If true it won't be a humans doing those jobs if they ever return.

If labor prices go up enough robotics will simply replace them once the labor cost exceeds the initial investment in the robotics, count on it.

McDonalds will be one of the first to automate fast food because they don't need to pay someone $15.00 an hour to insult their customers.

It is never about the dollar amount of the hourly wage it is about the purchasing power of that hourly wage.
