One thing they share in common is a large single Metro area (Portlandia and the Black Hole of Puget Sound) that hold the rest of their state hostage to ultraleftist fascist politics. Same with Colorado/Denver-Boulder, Delaware-Wilmington, Illinois-Chicago, Michigan-Detroit, Minnesota-Minneapolis/St. Paul, Nevada/Las Vegas, New York/NYC, Pennsylvania/Philadelphia and Virginia-NoVA. Remove just a single urban entity and the state goes Republican.
