I have to laugh at that inane comment.

That's OK. I laugh at a lot of your stuff too.

Are you really too young to remember how these functions were performed before Jimmy Carter (whose involvement in its founding explains why it performs so poor) established the education department?

I was a few months old when Carter left office, so yeah. But a Google search showed that there was a Department of Health, Education, and Welfare so I would assume that those functions fell under that.

Dead wrong.

Most of those functions were performed by mostly unpaid, volunteers in local school boards. That is why the United States lead the world in primary education .

Instead of political machine bureaucrats with education degrees designing the curriculum, we used parents of the local school children. Most districts elected doctors and engineersrand lawyers to these boards. They did a far better job and they did it cheap.

So no, dissolving the DEA doesn’t produce a lot of work the Federal government has to pay different people to do. It just turns a lot of buildings and furniture into surplus to sell off.
