"State sovereignty? California, New York and many others too numerous to mention are examples of exercises in state sovereignty. No further comment."

If the voters of these states choose to sit on their couches on election day then that is their problem.

A far too simplistic response. Tyranny of a majority having little or no comprehension of natural rights, coupled with the lack of time necessary to educate them in that regard, the ability of states to override those rights which are enshrined in the Bill of Rights, which others would argue may be overridden by state sovereignty, are the impediments to freedom. A chasm far too wide to cross. The educated voters will always be outnumbered by fools at the polls regardless of their zeal toward attendance and the judiciary will override the will of the people as in the case of California specifically.

Look at the responses here on what is said to be the premier conservative site in regards to the 2A. Far too many voice the opinion some controls are necessary despite the wording of the 2A. But I digress.
