Was Tamir Rice committing a crime? I hadn’t heard that there was a specific law being broken.

In the Rice case, I really do believe that we’ve trained some cops to be pretty stupid about how they engage certain situations. For example, they didn’t have to pull up so close. They could have been a bit farther back, giving them time to observe that it really was just a kid playing with a toy gun.

Of course there was. You can’t point a toy gun at a person in a public place. That was the police call. toy or not. Its a felony. Aggravated menacing. Where they hell are you from? Zimbabwe?

"They could have been a bit farther back, giving them time to observe that it really was just a kid playing with a toy gun."

So... you somehow think that, the farther away the cops were, the less realistic that gun would have looked?

Seriously?
Is that what you're saying???

Tamir Rice had a toy gun modified to look real. The real looking gun was used to scare people in a public setting.

And you want the cops to wait around farther back to see how many people get killed first?

Tamir Rice was brandishing a realistic looking Air Soft gun that had its’ orange tip removed to make it look exactly like a 1911 45.

He actually was committing a serious crime aggravated menacing a First Degree misdemeanor and he was going to be arrested had he actually complied with the police had not pulled the pistol. He would have been put into the Juvenile Court System.

Cop told him to raise his hands and his response was pull the “ toy” out of his waistband? Tamar was playing the role of thug ... Grand jury found no fault of cops and in this case it seems obvious

So....you say they should have pulled back some distance..so they could tell it was a toy gun???

That makes no sense at all.......

Brandishing a firearm in the way he did...is a crime in many areas of the country.

Alternatively, they could have simply shot the gun out of his hand, like they do on t.v.
