There is going to be no Trump/Cruz alliance. Cruz has denied it long ago, and he has recently said he has no interest in being Trump's VP. Some are determined to believe it, nevertheless.

Those who believe the State Department don’t have their own independence from the president don’t understand what’s going on. Not even Reagan would take on the State Department.

Fed bureaucrats in general will serve under four or more presidents and more than twice that many ‘Secretaries of’. It takes Congress’ power of the purse to rein them in.

There are three branches of government provided in the constitution: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.

The executive branch is autonomous excepting impeachment for crimes.

The Judicial is subject to acts of the congress. The executive is not.
