“Given her posting history, pretty good educated guess on your part.”

Given the posting history of Trump-haters, pretty good educated guess on my part that a comment like this would be posted.
BFAC, I think the response of Pro-Cruz people to an article like this is entirely normal and predictable. Characterizing defenders of Cruz as haters is kind of a lefty gig, don’t you think? Shouldn’t we conservatives be above that kind of play? Especially those of us who are totally committed to living our lives in the light of Scripture?
I for one do not hate Trump. I don’t trust him further than I can throw Trump Towers, but I would not be allowed by Christ to hate him, even if he was a bitter enemy. So I don’t know why you or anyone goes there. FR is supposed to be based on Judeo-Christian principles. Jim has been very clear about that. I don’t see why we can’t have those same principles govern our political conversations.
Now I do understand people get all stirred up about their candidate. That’s fine. That’s good, healthy political competition. And that’s one of the reasons I like the Cruz campaign. They are making a noticeable effort to campaign like Christians. I’m not seeing that in the Trump MO. Again, I’m not hating on him. I just don’t want a person like Trump running the country.
His connectedness to constitutional principles is not clear to me either. Kelo, for example. Also, his apparently poor grasp of the so-called settledness of the recent gay marriage decision. And I’ve never heard him walk back his criticism of us Christians, back in that Advocate interview. Yes, it was from a long time ago (2000), but he was backing hate crime legislation, which is codification of thought crimes, an extremely anti-conservative position. Now if he did walk it back and I missed it, I’m open to hearing the retraction.
But taken all together, I’d really rather have someone with a longer better track record of supporting the things I believe in as a conservative Christian, and in this election cycle, that person is Ted Cruz.
Peace,
SR
