Sen. Cruz does not support Trump’s moratorium, deferring instead to a rosier vision of Islam and immigration screening both in order, politely, to reject it.

This shows that Cruz is not serious. This is the one point that convinces me that Cruz wold be no better for the future of America than, say Rubio. He, or Rubio, would straighten out some of the finances of the country and make some short term fixes that would bring a semblance of prosperity for a few years but the slide into the ash heap of History would continue albeit with a short term perceived flattening of the curve. I think the combination with the best chance of turning the curve up is Trump/Cruz.

“This shows that Cruz is not serious.”

Exactly. Cruz is open to “compromise”:

I do not believe that this is an accurate summary of Senator Cruz's position in this issue. Nor does the author give an accurate summary of Trump's position, as I understand it after his walk-back.

I don't think there is any substantial difference in the positions of these men on this issue, and more importantly, beyond the rhetoric, I don't think there is any difference at all in the policies either man could or would implement in office.

No, it shows that Trump is not serious. Tossing out suggestions for programs without a clue as to whether they can be accomplished or not is not the sign of a thoughtful candidate. It's the sign of someone that throws out the first thing that comes to mind.

Cruz: “There is no doubt we would need to vet anyone coming in, but there is no indication that we have Muslims pretending to be Christians in the coming refugee wave,” Cruz said before an event at the College of Charleston, concluding his three-day swing across the Palmetto State. “If that develops to be a problem, then our first obligation should be protecting our national security.”

Cruz, like other Republican hardliners, has argued that the risk of Islamic militants infiltrating the refugee population is too high for America to accept them with open arms. On the stump across South Carolina, Cruz argued that the percentage of refugees that are young men suggests that ISIS may look to take advantage of any relaxation of immigration laws.

The Texas senator instead thinks that Muslims fleeing the Syrian civil war should be repopulated to other Muslim countries. But the Christian population, he believes, has nowhere else to go, and Cruz batted away concerns by telling reporters in Myrtle Beach on Sunday that Christians posed “no meaningful risk” to national security.

Cruz does not support Trump's moratorium

He says he wants to focus on the threat - 3 year moratorium on all refugees from affected areas, etc.Thinking folks don't knee-jerk without.....thinking (or donating to the causes they claim to espouse.....)

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz
