When the major polls start showing similiar gains believe them. This Quinnipiac poll is nonsense and has consistently downplayed Trump’s support.

Cruz has been steadily climbing and overtaking Trump in Iowa, and there is some evidence that the Texas senator is managing to perform similarly nationally. But in most polls, Trump’s national lead has stretched to new heights, with some recent surveys showing that more than 40% of Republican voters would support him today.
A Fox News poll taken similarly after the debate showed Trump with 39% support.
Quinnipiac’s national polling has consistently shown lower support for Donald Trump than other national phone polls, and that seems to be the case again in Tuesday’s survey. Their last pre-debate poll showed Trump at 27%, Rubio at 17% and Carson and Cruz both at 16%.
I believe that both of their major support groups would happily support the other candidate.
As another poster stated, the real victory is the demise of the little GOPe wannabes running aground.
> Ted Cruz is going to wake up to an early Christmas gift from the polling elves at Quinnipiac University, as their new results show him making a YUGE leap in popularity to gain on the front-runner Trump. For his part, he increased by one point as well.
<hard to take an article like this seriously when it mentions a university took a poll and says Cruz made a “YUGE” instead of HUGE leap...lol
A Trumpet claiming an unfavorable poll is bogus. I am shocked I tell ya!!!!!!! /s
We don’t know whether this poll is nonsense or not.
One possibility is that it IS nonsense, and subsequent polls will show sharply different results. And because subsequent polls did not in any way confirm this one, we would consider this am oulier.
Conversely, this poll might be picking up a shift in the electorate. Perhaps, as we begin to move toward primary season, voters are waking from their slumber and looking more critically at candidates, and relying less on celebrity name recognition.
We’ll see over the coming days whether other polls show a simila r shift. That doesn’t mean we’d expect to see a bunch of polls where suddenly Sen. Cruz is suddenly in the lead, after wiping out double-digit deficits. Only that these gaps would narrow. Then, the trend would confirm that Sen. Cruz is gaining, and others are losing or staying still.
We must be patient.
The only thing t that is assuredly nonsense is your analysis. Classic case of denisl.
I’m delighted at having good choices in the top two. FINALLY
Remember the DMR poll which showed Ted Cruz quadrupling his poll numbers and being ahead of Donald Trump by 9 points? The poll that was dismissed by Trump and his acolytes?
Well it turned out to be right. The CBS poll yesterday had Cruz at 40 % and ahead of Trump by 9 points in Iowa too. The trend is your friend.
.
Waaaaah!
Have your mommie kiss it better.
I tend to believe that Donald Trump is still well ahead and his supporters are very enthusiastic. I’m impressed by the crowds he draws.
He’s not exactly an orator but he says what people love to hear.
I’m for Cruz but I’m okay with Trump getting it.
