I am both a Trump and Cruz fan. I think this is great news. Still will have the establishment GOP in twisted-panty mode.
I think it’s the proper order of things for now and is a very good sign that common sense is making a comeback!
That shows me that Cruz could win the primary but not the general since his
support is limited with no cross-over appeal.

I agree to the extent that is what a normal expectation would be. However, imo the
dynamics of this election doesn’t fit the normal pattern with Trump being a non political
person that has captured a following across many differing sectors of voters. The question
remains will they show up at the polls to pull the lever. In 40 days the process begins.
Case in point....
Where was "trajectory" when all the GOPe was talking about Trump's "ceiling?"
Here we go again with the same old Cruz posters shouting arrogantly that he is going to win the nomination. Now all of a sudden national polls matter when last week they didn’t. As usual, Quinnipiac is the outlier. I didn’t see the Cruzers shouting from the rooftops about the Emerson poll just this morning showing Trump up by 15. Cruz is the new Carson in Quinnipiac.
What do you kow about Cruz? What data do you have to compare the character of Trump and the character of Cruz?
The battle of course will be in the individual states; Cruz is doing great in Iowa and some others.
Keep it going, Ted!
We’ll see about that. Cruz has built a ground game Carson and Fiorina don’t have.
Can you just imagine President Cruz after serving as Trump's VP, all the time learning exactly how and what he can get away with ;)
I think it’s mostly because Trump is not a conservative whereas Cruz is. Trump is a right-leaning, big government populist. Cruz advocates smaller government and federalism very well. For me personally, I’m looking for a candidate that promises to rein back government, not constantly promise that he’ll “take care of me”.
Isn’t it true that Cruz successfully weathered a fusillade of attacks during his run for Senate? He certainly shouldn’t be underestimated. Everyone can see he is very unique in his intelligence and preparedness.
What good is a "ground game" when Trump "owns the air" with passes that connect every single time?
This is the one accurate poll. All the others are biased against Ted.
I’m delighted at having good choices in the top two. FINALLY
I can. I can also see Cruz keeping Trump on the the best path. Methinks Trump is likely to stray if left on his own. But I also see that we need a tornado to tear down the disease inflicted on America and that is Trump’s duty. Only he can do that it seems...
Like always my final disposition is that we need them both.
While I have nothing but respect for your position, I know more than fifty percent of the electorate is female, and THEY have ALWAYS prized security more than liberty.
Am I still kicking myself? Yes! I figure the odds then were around 3:1. A damn good bet. I m sniffling into my coffee...
Glad to see this. I am in full support of Cruz.
But I do an average of the major polls each week and watch tht overall trend. One poll is just that...one poll.
But the trend for Cruz is great and there can be no denying that.
Essentially it is turning into a two horse race...Trump and Cruz. I can support either man if they are the nominee. But I believe that Cruz is the better candidate when it comes to understanding and following the Constitution.
I stated yesterday on this board if Cruz wins Iowa big it will change the race dramatically.
This from the poll

Looking at Trump, voters say:
58 - 36 percent that he is not honest and trustworthy;
58 - 39 percent that he has strong leadership qualities;
57 - 38 percent that he does not care about their needs and problems;
61 - 34 percent that he does not share their values.
Trump loses to Hillary by 2 with independents...Cruz beats Hillary by 9 with independents
Hillary gets 92% of dem voters with Trump...Hillary gets 91% Dems with Cruz.
NO crossover advantage for Trump.
Hillary kills trump 60-21 with voters under 35.
Nationally Hillary leads Trump by 7...Hillary tied with Cruz.
Trump favorable ratings are ONLY AHEAD of Kasich, Christie, Bush, and Paul.
To me...that shows problems for Trump.
