Actually, that most glamorous part of the strip is incorporated as Paradise, Nevada. We just think of it as Las Vegas.

Fremont Street and its environs is in Las Vegas obviously. I'm not sure why the city fathers set things up that way. Could relate to water districts, tax rates etc.
