It’s inevitable that someone makes a mistake like Harvey did. Heck a US newspaper said that “Dewey Defeats Truman.” Feel bad for both him and the two girls. The girl will never get another first moment to be “Miss Universe.”

After watching several past Ms. Universes, I believe that the tradition is to say : “THE RUNNER-UP IS ...” and then announced the name.

Steve apparently mistook the name on the card for the winner.

He was not informed.
