‘Why is he campaigning?’
Malignant Narcissism is a serious Personality Disorder. One component is a pathological need to at all times be the center of attention. This campaign cycle is indescribably torturous for Obama. Save for a series of stinging criticisms (from the R candidates), he has been sidelined. Trump is soaking up the lion’s share of the attention. For a MN, this is like living death.
So he will try to commandeer the spotlight from time to time. If that doesn’t work, he’ll up the ante.
Barring the unknown-except-by-God, we have a very long and trying year ahead.
