Anyone who relies on Hollywood for lessons on anything has been lost to the brain freeze of media. It’s inevitable that generations brought up on garbage for the mind would use it for their life lessons.

I’m all for entertainment and loved the first Star Wars movies but I viewed them as just that; entertainment. It seems we’ve gone way beyond that as a society. I think I’ll remember how great the first Star Wars was and let this one slide along DeCaprio’s bestiality and others. Hollywood and the entertainment industry have become pretty sick places. Finding something worth watching or reading has become a lot like trying to find something to eat in a garbage can.

this is a very good piece.

along with this, “The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams, continues this entrepreneurial approach to set design, converting salvaged parts into galactic luxury mobiles and avoiding the use of modern shortcuts like computer-generated imagery (CGI) whenever possible.”...I think we should note that Abrams showed a deeper understanding of and respect for episodes 4, 5 and 6 than did the makers of 1, 2 and 3.

This was an authentic Star Wars.

It is very traditional, and it is an organic development within the living, breathing tradition.

Who’d have known? Regardless of what Abrams talks about politically, in the realm of culture, he is a functioning conservative, a true Burkean.....
