(CNN)—A driver veered onto a crowded sidewalk several times on the Las Vegas Strip, injuring more than 30 people in what authorities described as an "intentional" act. At least one person was killed and 37 others injured near the Paris Las Vegas Hotel on Sunday night, authorities said. Witnesses said the woman was driving down Las Vegas Boulevard before her car jumped onto the sidewalk and started striking pedestrians. She allegedly drove the 1996 Oldsmobile sedan onto the sidewalk at different spots and hit more people before barreling down the road.
'Not an act of terrorism'
Police arrested the driver, and she is undergoing tests for alcohol and controlled substances. A 3-year-old in the car with her was unharmed. Authorities ruled out terrorism but said an initial investigation showed the driver did it deliberately. "This was not an act of terrorism," said Brett Zimmerman, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department deputy chief. "We are treating this as an intentional act." The driver, who is in her 20s, went onto the sidewalk at least three or four times, according to Zimmerman.
I haven’t been to Vegas in over 10 years but last I remember, the pedestrians don’t cross at street level anymore, it’s all skybridge overpasses. I first went in 1999 and by 2000 they were everywhere.
Remember in November/December of 2001 when a Tampa teen stole a small airplane and crashed it into a bank building? We were assured that it was not terrorism?
His suicide note said otherwise. The word ‘terrorist’ was scratched out (by someone, possibly not the author) and thus did not make the wire reports when it was released to the public several months later. It literally was one of the first words he wrote. If he’s going to scratch things out at that point, you’d think he would just start over.
The Smoking Gun had a photo of the full letter. “These terrorist acts I am about to perform...” or something.
Assurances from the police and government that someone did not claim or engage in terrorism mean nothing to me. They have been proven to have publicly lied in the past.

There’s so much that’s just wrong with what this woman did. One family is mourning a life snatched away while others have their lives disrupted. Maybe the one that most concerned me was the three year old. They take in a lot more than most adults realize. Very traumatizing.

They have skybridges. But they still have street level crossing. Right in front of Paris and Planet Hollywood to cross over Las Vegas Blvd to the Caesar's side. Also to the right of Planet Hollywood there is a construction project, where some pedestrian traffic is diverted around the barricades (Bally's?). Pedestrian traffic crosses at street level where cars come in and out of these hotel/casinos. These areas are where that car crashed into the people. Lots of these people crossing paths of cars ignore signal lights, frustrating the vehicle drivers. Where cars come in and out of casinos is particularly bad.
I always make it a policy to stand well back from the curb while waiting for a light to change. In the past I've almost been hit by cars that spin right around a curb, sometimes jumping the curb. But in this case that car went up onto the sidewalk on purpose to nail pedestrians so no one was safe. Sad.

Today’s police press conference they said no signs of alcohol and they believe it was an intentional act.
Was it a coincidence that the Ms. Universe pageant, Trump’s former pageant was going on on 12/20 at the Paris or Planet Holywood Casino at the time in Las Vegas? Was this an intentional “protest” act against the pageant or Trump?
The witness went on to say “As this unfolded, the only thing I recall as this happened is the insane sound of her car accelerating and the voice from the car was screaming “Allah Akbar!”
Could definitely be a copycat with no terror ties, but still...

The sheriff is now saying he is hesitant to discuss her motive.....She has friends on Facebook who are part of the Nation of Islam....there is at least one report from a witness that said she was screaming Allah Akbar
I don’t know if the witness is puffing the story or not....I just think this whole thing does not pass the giggle test
