Donald Trump, the national front-runner, keeps his big lead in two of the three early states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, but now Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has moved past Trump into a lead of his own in Iowa.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio remains in double digits in New Hampshire and South Carolina, and Governor Chris Christie has now shown upward movement in New Hampshire, doubling his support there in the last month.
The backdrop to all this is a mood of anxiety - both economic and personal security - pervading the GOP electorate in these early states. Nine in ten in all states feel the country is now a more dangerous and insecure place, including 95 percent of Iowa GOP voters who say that, and nine in ten feel the nation's economic system is one that hurts them instead of benefits them. Terrorism and national security are now specifically front-and-center on primary voters' minds: in Iowa, 61 percent say it is their top decision-making criteria for candidates, ahead of the economy; in New Hampshire, 66 percent cite terrorism and security ahead of 28 percent on the economy.

Trump/Nugent 2016.
Gonna just make my prediction now. Ted Cruz is gonna win the nomination. Everything is just lining up perfectly for him at just the right time. He has all the momentum.
A few nights ago, someone who was on Fox---might have been Rich Lowry---said that his ground game is extremely sophisticated, more so than any of the other candidates.'
Cruz is “owned”, eh?
Class Warfare belongs in the other party.
How many politicians do you think Trump “owns” since he bought off a bunch of him and had enough influence to insist that a killer of “hundreds of thousands” attend his wedding?
Er, no. Trump has been gaining consistently in IA, up from the 19 range when Carson was ahead to 31 in this poll. Yes, Cruz has moved faster, but it’s simply wrong to try to portray Trump as “flat.” He is exactly where he is in almost every national and other state poll.
Ted needs to have his suits tailored. Notice his coat sleeve extends way over his wrist while Trump’s sleeve ends right at the wrist.
If Cruz wins IA by more than double digits and comes in a strong 2nd in NH (20% or more), he will absolutely win South Carolina.
Nevada also has a caucus before Super Tuesday and Cruz was leading that in the latest poll released last week.
That brings up Super Tuesday and the SEC Primaries which Cruz will sweep most of, including Georgia.
Exactly. He doesn't need to mindlessly take direction from advisors.
And that would be a disaster. Trump is capturing the old "Reagan democrat" crowd. Heck, I'm even talking to liberals who plan to vote for Trump. Cruz just doesn't have that magic.
Don't get me wrong. If I could pick the next president, it would be Ted Cruz.
Trump will run the table where it matters most.
The SEC.
Chuckle! That PPP poll is from 4 days ago. Wanna try again bud?
True, then he'd be liked by faux conservative David Brooks who thought that 0bama was the cat's (finely-tailored) pajamas because of the crease in his pants...
Please post a link to a poll in Nevada that shows Cruz leading. Last poll I saw showed Trump at 38% and Cruz at 4%.
#GrassrootsMatter.
Never seen a poll w at 6.9 Moe.
