Brzezinski: Dems have a problem if Trump wins

"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski argued Friday that the Democratic Party will have a big problem on it's hands if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination.

Minutes before the GOP front-runner was set to appear on the show, Brzezinski piggybacked off of comments by "Meet The Press" moderator Chuck Todd, who wondered when Republicans will come around to "conventional wisdom" and back the candidate who could best match up with Hillary Clinton. The left-leaning Brzezinski said that Trump is that person.

"Actually, [it's] Trump," Brzezinski told Todd. "If [GOP voters] want someone to beat Hillary Clinton, it would be Trump, because he will do things that none of those candidates will do. I'm not saying it's good, and I'm not saying it's pretty, and I'm not saying it's right."

"But the Democratic Party has a problem if Trump wins the nomination," Brzezinski said.

The comments also came on the heels of a new Morning Consult phone survey showing Trump tripling up his closest competitor with 36 percent support.

The real estate mogul currently sits second in the Washington Examiner's latest set of power rankings.

Yes she does. And I like demoncrats having problems. They haven’t had nearly enough problems, thanks to Republican “leadership”. Calling them leaders is definitely a misuse of the word.

Trump is saying every chance he gets that Hillary does not have the energy to be president. That is code for saying that she is in poor health. When he becomes the nominee, he will zero in on that and harp on it.

That is why he released his health records. He will demand she release hers. Trump has intel on Hillary’s health and he thinks it is a serious deal killer.

Unlike any other candidate he will go after the health issue and won’t let go. If her health is as bad as Trump thinks, he has a real poison pill there for Hillary.

But, but, but ... Michael Medved says that Trump could never beat Hillary! (And “he” supported Bush I against Clinton, and Dole, and Bush II, and McCain, and Romney, and Bush III, and Rubio, and Christie! )

I suspect that the left (who has been amazingly quiet re: Trump) will pounce in September 2016 and have a full blown criminal indictment (or some such) of Trump for all sorts of things before election day as the ace up their sleeve. I am extremely nervous about the possibilities.

I do not doubt it, but I think they will run out of time before they are able to do any real damage to Trump. Additionally, they must appreciate that when Trump is elected, his AG will be breathing down their back. Trump has already eluded to that with respect to Hillary. In response to a rally attendee’s question about Hillary's email crimes, Trump said something was going to be done about her criminality if he became president. Additionally, one of Trump's strongest suits is his incredible ability to wield the bully pulpit. He is not even president and look how he owns the media. I am confident that In the arena of public opinion he can beat back anything they throw at him.

Interesting point. They have to play dirty to beat him, but if he wins he’ll return the treatment. They can’t go at him hard enough to win without persuading him to destroy them if they don’t succeed.
