LOL. Just an educated guess here, but I do not think they will listen. We probably need to just tend to the issues, make sure the word gets out, and hope the voters (the early voters who count — grumble) choose wisely.
The primary system needs to be completely remade. Back when there were no cars or planes or television, it made sense to stagger the primaries. Now it just gives some Americans more of a say than other Americans. Plus the states that allow Democrats to vote in the Republican primary need to be forced by the party to put an end to that.
Notice the trumpkins are just so angry— and have no sense of humor? -:)
GHP— that’s what ted has been doing from the start- just tending to business.
I don’t think the party, if you mean the GOPe, would ever stop that, just look at how they used it to their toxic advantage in Mississippi.
Before cars, there weren't primaries. The first primary election (a creation of the political parties) was in 1910.
The system definitely needs an overhaul. I live in an SEC primary state now so my (primary) vote actually matters, but before that the nomination was determined before my state’s primary. It was always frustrating to not really have a say.
If the state pays for the election, the state gets to make the rules. If the party pays, the party makes the rules. That’s how it was explained to me, anyway. Tell me if I’m wrong.
If it’s true, I guess it depends on how rich the state GOP is. In NY, there’s plenty of money, so the parties have enough and call the shots.
