I can't see Cruz taking Trump, or Trump accepting a VP role. So that is out. I got to thinking about Rand Paul. I think there are a lot of things about Paul that make sense. It gets the "Paul name" constituency on board. It appeals to the more non-interventionist voter on board. Paul isn't a huge DC insider. On NSA/snooping type issues, Paul is da man, especially with the younger crowd.
So I think a case could be made that Paul and Cruz making a good pairing. Of course I can think of plenty of reasons why not. Two senators, KY is a slam dunk for the Rs, probably should get a governor.
In any case, fun to think about.
If Cruz is needing Paul to take KY, then he has serious issues at the national level. I would rather see someone who could help him out in the midwest and battleground states. I don't think Paul is that person.
