People are calling Sam's Club CEO 'racist' after she gave an interview about diversity
Business Insider ^ | 14 Dec 2015 | Hayley Peterson

Sam's Club CEO Rosalind Brewer is being accused of discriminating against white men following a CNN interview where she discussed the importance of workforce diversity.

Brewer was asked by the interviewer how she promotes diversity within her company.

"It has to start with top leadership," Brewer said. "My executive team is very diverse and I make that a priority. I demand it within my team."

She said she mentors women inside and outside of her company, as well, and also encourages Sam's Club's partners to hire a more diverse workforce.

Now here's the comment that ignited the uproar. Brewer said:

"Just today we met with a supplier and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males. That was interesting. I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier's] folks in the room because there were actually no female, like, levels down. So I'm going to place a call to him."

Critics are claiming that Brewer's remarks are evidence that she advocates against employing and hiring white men — even though four of the eight people on her executive team are white men. Some customers are now accusing Brewer of being "racist" toward white men and are threatening to boycott Sam's Club.

The interview has since been shared widely by right-wing sites, including RedState, BizPac Review, and TeaParty.org, prompting some customers to criticize the company online.

"As a white male I'm deeply offended by the remarks of your employee," one person wrote on Sam's Club's Facebook page. "We will not be patronizing Sam's Club until this is corrected."

If you want to know Walmart’s real purpose in having Walmart stores and Sam’s Club stores, below I quote what I found at their site “Walmart Realty.” People in a number of communities have been upset because Walmart moved in and undersold local business until they went out of business. So below, if you paraphrase what they say it could read: We don’t care if our stores and clubs fail because our goal is to buy up the neighborhood and make big bucks with real estate development and the help of the local officials we have paid off/contributed to for help in achieving our aim.

“Welcome to Walmart Realty

Walmart Realty, a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., is a real estate company that offers many development opportunities nationwide. Walmart Realty concentrates on commercial real estate located in or around our current and former locations. Walmart Realty’s mission is to find businesses to open in our former stores and clubs and to locate in available property around our stores. At Walmart Realty, we believe we have a responsibility to work with communities to find a use that generates economic growth and opportunity. We work at the local level with local brokers, economic development officials and elected leaders to find partners that best suits the needs of each local community.”

So if you find that Costco is giving better service it may be because they want to succeed, pay their top executives less and their worker bees more. Walmart’s typical pay of $9 an hour is hardly motivating. I think that Walmart’s CEO was paid $20 million last year. If the first model is socialism and the second is capitalism, then maybe we could use more socialism???

I made the decision last week to stop shopping at everything walmart

Cool - more available cash for a conservative candidate and FR....

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

I never fused both motivations that way before. Unfortunately, it makes a lot of sense, fiscally speaking, so long as one doesn’t give a flip about the rising unemployment and zeitgeist of hopelessness.

I just returned from a business trip to Austin. I’ve never seen such nice and well stocked meat counter at a major grocery chain as I did at the H.E.B. chain.

If my black female employee is an incompetent or just plain not up to the task, I should place PC before business?

Well, plenty of us are employed in the STEM fields, which is why they are being targeted to add the requisite number of unqualified “preferred minorities” to their payrolls.

If a flying saucer full of aliens landed in the USA today the occupants would learn that the blacks and browns and muslims and females pioneered the settlement of America, built the wealthiest most powerful nation in the history of the world, and are the real intellect, power and driving force keeping the nation running.

Then the aliens would wonder why these dynamic people keep a bunch of lazy, bumbling, incompetent, racist, bigoted, white guys around when all we do is screw things up for the real builders and movers and shakers of the nation.

They would learn that all we white guys do is break things that the wife must fix, lock ourselves out of the house, run over the family pet with the lawn mower, and embarrass our kids with our non-stop dumbassery.

You’re right; as a father of sons I always make sure to point out to them that most things they see around them were invented and built by Anglo men. I won’t have them view themselves the way the media would like them portrayed. Thankfully I live close enough to Newark NJ that they have no misconceptions as to what is reality...

So if I find out the CEO is a secret KKK Kleagle I should wear white sheets to the meeting?

This is not new. Several years ago (but after Sam Walton's death) I worked for a professional services firm that had Walmart as a client. It was Walmart's written policy that we had to have at least one "diversity" staff member on every project team working for them. They were serious about it, and I personally heard one of their top executives say they fired another firm that only used a diversity-person as window dressing.

Final straw for me was when the Walmart CEO called the ARK governor and killed the religious liberty bill. I have not shopped at Walmart since and let my Sam's Club membership lapse. I'm sure Walmart could care less about losing several hundred dollars a year (more likely closer to a couple of thousand when all our purchases were added up) from me, but if enough folks stop shopping at Walmart and Sam's they will get the message.

Their attitude is really stupid. They just made the core of their customer base mad; lefties are never going to like them.

Sam's Club CEO Rosalind Brewer.

I have often marveled and wondered at the non-diversity among the cashiers' ranks at my local Sam's Club.

Now I must wonder if orders came down from HQ.
