Are Trumps criticisms of Cruz, that he is bad for fighting the Old Boy Club in DC and coming out against govt subsidies of business, valid? Are these really bad things? If not, what does it say about the person leveling those criticisms??

I thought that some time ago most at FR had concluded the issues of practically open borders, high legal and illegal immigration, and Obama's luring as many poor Third Worlders as possible and more and more Muslims into the US was the most critical issue facing the US at this time. All of that is nothing more than a massive Democrat voter recruitment drive.

It is now very difficult for any Republican to win the presidency, and it will be practically impossible if those trends are not slowed and even stopped. There is only one candidate who has raised those issues to a level no previous candidate even dared to do. This might be the last chance in the lifetime of most living Americans to stop the Dims move to import an electorate that will make the Dims almost unbeatable in presidential campaigns.

All these issue that some are so exercised about today are inconsequential compared to the prospect of decades of Dim rule and leftist court majorities at every level.

And Trump is the only candidate who could reverse these trends. Cruz seems more and more like a stalking horse for the GOPe and I do not trust him at all on the immigration and trade issues.

Ehtanol and Scalia and eminent domain and all this other blather will mean nothing if Hillary wins and appoints two or more SCOTUS justices, including Scalia's replacement, and continues Obama's open borders, Democrat voter recruitment policies.

Trump needs to get his message straight and stop allowing the media to get him off on pointless tangents. But Cruz is playing the fox and fomenting disagreement and causing damage to any hope that a Republican can be elected to fight the Uniparty goals.

Joke post?
If Trump is the messiah, how come he is doing worse than anyone else in head to heads against Hilary Clinton?
See post # 16.

It's not Cruz who is spewing out GOPe taking points and taking The side of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner. It's Donald Trump who is doing that. Donald Trump is the new cheerleader/spokesperson for the GOPe

With respect, I don’t want a Republican, I want a conservative running against Hillary. Donald is a Populist, but not a conservative.

My take on your response is that you believe that Donald is the right guy and that everyone should get out of the way so he can run against Hillary. I think Cruz is the right guy, let’s let the electoral process play out.

Do you really think the Kelo decision is “blather”? I found that ruling, permitting the government to auction off your property to the highest bidder in the private sector, to be terrifying. And personally, I find Trump’s support of such a concept to be pretty scary too.

In times of crisis, people look for a “strong man” to make things right. Donald has tapped into the feeling of the times perfectly, and so did others who ended up being pretty scary people. My personal belief is that Trump’s ultimate principle is “winning, no matter what it takes”. I want those qualities in a General, but not in the head of a Constitutional Republic.

And let us not forget, Trump is a totally unproven man in the public sector. Being conservative in nature, I’m very hesitant to give the most important elected office in the world to a man who has spent zero time in the political trenches. (I’m not equating Trump to Obama, but we’ve seen how disastrous an unproven entity in the White House can be.) Teddy Roosevelt, last century’s Populist, at least did a stint as governor before being tapped for VP. Leave it to Trump to decide that he should start at the top. Ironic, since I don’t believe he offered any winners on Apprentice the CEO position.

If the choice is Hillary or Trump, it’s Trump. I’ll even go so far as to say he’s my No.2, because I’m a little desperate about how things have been going also, but for me it would be Trump with grave reservations.
